April 29, 1981 test pilot A. Fastovets performed the first flight at first sample of MiG-29UB aircraft. In 1976 the Board of Ministers of USSR issued an order on design of training-combat version of MiG-29UB. The sampling started just in 2 years as all the efforts of the Design Bureau were directed to the main version of the aircraft – MiG-29. The rare cockpit was placed due to the elimination of equipment. The radar was removed and replaced by imitating devices. ОЭПрНК-29УБ optical-electronic sighting navigation complex differed from the combat version implementing doubling the control means and partially indication. The positive feature of new training MiG aircraft was perfect circle observance from both cockpits. The aircraft obtained index 9-51. The state tests of the two-seater started in 1981 and in 1983 the documents on putting the aircraft at armament were signed. For reference: JSC “558 ARP” have performed overhaul and upgrade of MiG-29(UB) type since 1995. As for now our company have performed overhaul of more than 170 aircraft of MiG-29(UB) aircraft. Under overhaul JSC “558 ARP” provide deep upgrade of MiG-29(UB) aircraft to enhance their combat and operational parameters. The aircraft upgrade allows to create multi-role aviation complex which is able to hit aerial and surface targets by various aviation weapon means. Upgraded avionic allows to implement РВВ-АЕ missiles of air-to-air type and various means (including corrected) of air-to-surface type: Х-31А missiles designated for naval targets engagement; Х-31П anti-radar missile; КАБ-500Л/КР и КАБ-1500Л/КР guided aerial bombs; Х-25МЛ and Х-29Л missiles with laser guidance as well Х-29Т missile with television homing head. In March 2005, 15 world records were set on the upgraded MiG-29BM aircraft!
