Today is an important date in the common history of our fraternal states. The holiday originates in 1996 – with the signing of the Treaty on the Formation of the Community of Belarus and Russia. Then followed key steps:

• 1997 - Treaty on the Union of Belarus and Russia;
• 1998 - Treaty on Equal Rights of Citizens;
• 1999 - Treaty on the Creation of the Union State.

The process of restoring ties between peoples, started thirty years ago, remains the most important factor in the growth of well‑being, the preservation of sovereignty and security of our countries. Every new step of integration yields a concrete result felt by all citizens of the Union State.

This day is a symbol of age‑old friendship, common culture, joint successes and overcome difficulties. The large‑scale projects we are implementing today and planning for the future are confidence that the main achievements of integration are still ahead.
