On January 19‑21, 2026, a visit of the Belarusian delegation headed by the Chairman of the State Military‑Industrial Committee Dmitry Pantus to the Republic of Chad took place. It was a logical continuation of the course to strengthen interstate ties and marked a new level of practical interaction with key countries of the African continent.
The first day's program included a series of meetings and negotiations with the Minister of National Defence, Veterans and War Victims of the Republic of Chad, General Issak Malloua Djamouss, commanders of the branches and commands of the Armed Forces, the leadership of the security bloc, as well as structural units of the military department of the Republic of Chad. The focus of the parties was not only on current needs, but also on a comprehensive analysis of modern challenges and threats in the region. The Belarusian side presented in detail the capabilities of the domestic defense industry in the field of weapons modernization, support for law enforcement agencies, personnel training and technology transfer.
The continuation of the visit was devoted to discussing the future format of cooperation. A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the State Military‑Industrial Committee and the relevant departments of the Republic of Chad, laying a solid foundation for further interaction.
The visit and the signed document demonstrate the transition from episodic contacts to systematic, predictable and long‑term strategic partnership. The Republic of Belarus, possessing a sovereign and competitive defense industry, confirms its role as a reliable supplier of security technologies.
This visit gave a confident start to a new chapter in relations between Belarus and Chad.
